How do I find course sections in SCU? ›

Within the report, you can use the Search Bar at the top of the screen or use the filters in the left column to find specific course sections. NOTE: If you search for particular course sections often, you can enter your search value and/or choose your filters on the left-hand side and click Save for the current search.

A failed course may be repeated only once. The Academic Support and Records Office must approve requests for a third attempt. If approved and the course is successfully repeated on the third attempt, only one of the previous F grades will be replaced in the calculation of the student's GPA.

To be in good academic standing at the University, a student must normally be enrolled for 12 or more units, must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 based on all courses taken at Santa Clara, and must have completed at least a minimum number of units as specified below.

Definition of Grades

The following grades are used: A — excellent; B — good; C — fair in undergraduate courses and minimum passing in courses for graduate credit; D — minimum passing in undergraduate courses; F — failed. In addition, plus and minus grades may be used, with the exceptions of A plus, F plus and F minus.

Grade point values per unit are assigned as follows: A = 4.0; A- = 3.7; B+ = 3.3; B = 3.0; B- = 2.7; C+ = 2.3; C = 2; C- = 1.7; D+ = 1.3; D = 1.0; D- = 0.7. F= 0.

Courses taken on a Pass/Fail basis (appearing as a “P@” or “F@” on your transcript) do not count toward your GPA. For example, an “F@” is not factored into your GPA, whereas an “F” (for a course taken on a graded basis) will be factored into your GPA with a value of 0.

Grades in the B- and C+ ranges are given for acceptable performance levels in a particular course.. A C- grade is the minimal passing grade. A grade of F is given for performance that insufficiently demonstrates academic and professional competence.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. The course section number corresponds to the days and times a class meets, the course instructor, location, etc.

Sections are a group of students that have been organized for administrative purposes [2]. When users are enrolled in a course, they are actually enrolled in one of the sections of that course. It is possible to place more than one section in course, but it is not possible to put sections within sections.
