There’s something about a delicious chopped Greek style salad with lots of creamy feta cheese and a tangy dressing that puts a smile on my face. Perpetually in the mood for this with some sliced up grilled chicken, salmon or canned tuna. The simplest of lunches and dinners that will have you coming back for more.
I personally prefer the cucumber the same as the red onion: sliced thin on the mandolin (but diced up into small pieces also works). The olives need to be halved, and the avocado needs to be diced. The fresh dill is the ideal herb to use here. It pairs amazingly with the feta cheese.
The dressing is super simple and easy to whip up. You most probably have all of these fresh delicious ingredients lying around. The tang from the vinegar and lemon juice coupled with the sweetness of the honey is total perfection. I like to serve this with some toasted pita bread and add some sesame seeds or Everything But the Bagel seasoning at the end for that textured aesthetic. Chef’s Kiss!

My Turkish husband said this salad takes him back to the Aegean Coast. I made it a second time with mesclun & garbanzos, reducing the amount of cucumber and it was still the perfect amount of dressing. Sure to be a new staple in our kitchen, thank you!

Hi Heather! I think the addition of the garbanzo beans is something I need to try! Glad you and the hubby love it!

Fantastic as is! Added a little extra lemon juice after tasting the dressing And used fresh herbs from the garden. Added turkey meatballs this time, and can’t wait to eat more!

Let me say this first: I HATE AVOCADO AND CUCUMBER!!! I could never just eat it raw. Then I saw this recipe on TikTok and I’ve been making it at least once a month. The olives and feta really help mask the intense flavor of the cucumber and jazz up the plain avocado flavor that I usually dislike. I sub the red wine vinegar for balsamic and like to add a little extra dill. This recipe is chef’s kiss and I will continue to rotate it into my meals from now on!

We love, love this salad and since finding it, have it at least once a week! I don’t always have fresh dill on hand, so make it without it sometimes.
